The Best Leaders Are the Best Followers

“Don’t be a follower” is good but incomplete advice. Normally this is said as a negative response to following an evil, corrupt, or bad example. Some people, friends, or relatives may not be good examples of how to live and of what to think.
I once knew a 21-year-old man who had a friend too. He had several friends. His group of friends said: “Let’s go get a drink and have a ‘good time.'” He drank his first alcohol that night. He became drunk and ended up in a bar fight. This man took the fight outside where (with his military training) he ended up killing the man. With one dead, the man’s life will never be the same. Prison. Criminal record. Guilt. All it took was one choice. One moment, following some bad advice from a “friend.” He willingly let someone lead him astray. You don’t want to follow this sad example.

The Handcuffs of Sin

His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.  Proverbs 5:22 Today I came across this verse in a counseling session.  I read it in a previous time.  The part “he shall be holden with the cords of his sins” was already underlined in blackContinue reading “The Handcuffs of Sin”

Loving Laws or Loving People

TheContinue reading “Loving Laws or Loving People”

God Has a “Because”

God Has a “Because” “Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the wellfavoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts.” Nahum 3:4 Our nation is in a critical moment of history. Just like Nineveh was judged by God because of sin, we too should expectContinue reading “God Has a “Because””

This Never Takes a Day Off

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  2 Timothy 3:13 Do you look forward to a vacation?  Christmas break? Spring break?  How about the end a work week?  Sure.  We look forward to moments of rest and relaxation.  Jesus even told His disciples to “Come apart and restContinue reading “This Never Takes a Day Off”

The Bodies Were Still Warm

The Bodies Were Still Warm Blame.  Who is to blame?  500+ people shot, nearly 60 dead. The worst shooting scene in American history.  The dead bodies of the concert goers were still warm when people began to play the “blame game.” Politicians began to politicize.  The Media began its narrating and spinning. Conspiracy theorist startedContinue reading “The Bodies Were Still Warm”

Hearing, Learning, and Fearing

Hearing, Learning, and Fearing Moses is 120 years old.  His voice is still strong, mind still sharp, and his body is still capable.  He is told by God that he will get to peer over and get a peek at the Promised Land, but that he will not be able to go into the land.Continue reading “Hearing, Learning, and Fearing”
