Billy Sunday was known for his dynamic, boisterous, loud, and sometimes rough preaching. He held the attention of his audience and was possibly “entertaining” to listen to and watch when he was preaching. Even if your pastor or guest preacher is not “entertaining” that’s OK. Entertainment is not the goal – knowing God is.
One girl, in an emergency room, through tears while being stitched up expressed to the doctor that she was hoping to get home in time to attend the final night of the missions conference.
No Chance Encounter One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. John 1:40-41 Andrew heard the preaching. God’s Word affected his heart. John the Baptist wasContinue reading “No Chance Encounter”
Missions, Buildings, and Growth But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 Does our giving money to missions have a direct impact on the blessings of God on a local church? And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, andContinue reading “A Call to Ministry is a Big Deal”
Be Like Zach Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Remember the days when people would say: “Be like Mike.” On the basketball court, winning and work ethic could be found in Michael Jordan. Kids would wear his shoes, shoot the ball like him,Continue reading “Be Like Zach”
The Initiative of Missions Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. John 20:21 The tomb was empty. The disciples were hiding in the Upper Room. Jesus shows up. He appears in the middle of the room even with all the doorsContinue reading “The Initiative of Missions”
